The Jamiatul Ulama Transvaal is a constituted body of Muslim Theologians (Ulama) established in 1923. It has, since its inception served the socio-religious needs of the Muslim community residing in Gauteng, North-West, Mpumalanga, Northern Province, Free State and some areas of the Northern Cape. It has 6 regional offices and 6 representatives.

We have Mehfils in every Masjid with huge gatherings of Rochdale's Muslims taking part throughout the year, these Mehfils are held in different masjids organised by different committees. The Mehfils held during the blessed month of Rabi ul Awwal are particularly unique in Rochdale, we have daily Milaad gatherings in various Masjids on a rota basis, the cumilation of the daily Milaad programmes is marked by a grand finale of events on 12 Rabi ul Awwal.

The Raza Academy was founded in 1979 in Manchester to promote Sunni Islam within the United Kingdom, and to serve Islam and the Muslim Community. Since its foundation Raza Academy has now published over one hundred books, and since 1985 it has produced a monthly magazine, which has been called The Islamic Times, which after many struggles has gone from strength to strength.
