The mission of IMANA is to provide a forum and resource for Muslim physicians and other health care professionals, to promote a greater awareness of Islamic medical ethics and values among Muslims and the community-at-large, to provide humanitarian and medical relief, and to be an advocate in health care policy.

In 1964, PERDAUS was formally registered under the name “Pelajar-Pelajar Agama Dewasa Singapura” (Association of Adults Religious Class Student of Singapore). The organization was founded by students of well-known local Muslim religious scholars at that time. Among these scholars were the late Syed Abdillah Balfakeh who was the former principal of Madrasah Aljunied Al-Islamiah, the late Ustaz Haji Daud Ali, the late Kyai Haji Ahmad Zohri Mutamin and the late Kyai Haji Mohd Fadhullah Suhaimi.
