In 1964, PERDAUS was formally registered under the name “Pelajar-Pelajar Agama Dewasa Singapura” (Association of Adults Religious Class Student of Singapore). The organization was founded by students of well-known local Muslim religious scholars at that time. Among these scholars were the late Syed Abdillah Balfakeh who was the former principal of Madrasah Aljunied Al-Islamiah, the late Ustaz Haji Daud Ali, the late Kyai Haji Ahmad Zohri Mutamin and the late Kyai Haji Mohd Fadhullah Suhaimi.

The University of New England International Muslim Student Association (UNE–IMSA) is an organisation of international Muslim students. UNE–IMSA was formed in May 1978 and run mainly by the international Muslim students of UNE.

One way of achieving this is to gain influence in the American political system that is commensurate with their skills, creativity, moral and ethical concerns and intellectual contributions.
