Disa shkollare e shohin si gjeografin dhe kartografistin me te madh te mesjetes. Ai gjithashtu dha ndihmese te madhe ne bimet mjekesore. Abu Abdullah Muhamed Ibn Muhamed Ibn Idris Ash-Sharif lindi ne vitin 1099 e.r. ne Ceuta te Spanjes. Ai njihet edhe me emrin e tij te shkurter Al-Shafir Al-Idrisi al-Kurtubi
